Our Minister

Minister William C. Smith

Brother William C. Smith was baptized into Christ on June 13, 1973, in Eatonton, Georgia. He currently serves as the pastor and one of the elders at the Brentwood Church of Christ in Milwaukee, WI. He has assisted in the ministry for several years at the Brentwood congregation under the leadership of Brother Leslie Odoms, who retired and moved to Atlanta, Georgia.

Brother Smith has served at the Brentwood congregation since the early 1990’s in the roles of Sunday School Teacher, Treasurer, Deacon, Assistant Minister and presently the lead minister since October 2021.

He has been married to his wife Leatryce “Nell” Smith for 39 years, and they have two adult children, Whitnee and Wquinton.

Brother Smith is currently studying with the Searcy School of Biblical Studies and attends the satellite school of the Sunset Bible Institute in which he also serves as a facilitator at the Brentwood Congregation. He has completed courses in Old and New Testament Survey, Acts of the Apostles, Apologetics, Daniel, Revelation. Etc.

His education consisted of attending Southwestern Christian College in Terrell, Texas and earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services from Springfield College located in Springfield, Massachusetts. He earned a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Marian University.

Brother Smith retired from the Milwaukee Police Department in October 2011 after 25 years of service. He was police officer for several years and later transferred to the Sensitive Crimes Division where he was promoted to detective. He served as a detective in the Sexual Assault Unit, Internal Affairs, Violent Crimes, and retired from the Homicide Division.

Under the leadership of Brother Smith, the Brentwood Congregation has been 100% engaged in Community Outreach and prides itself on Spiritual Education for the Brentwood family and the community. The congregation is engaged Bible study classes for all ages during the week. The congregation has witnessed a growth in baptism and membership where all the glory and honor are given to the Lord our God.

Brother Smith’s “motto” is that we are all the same in the sight of God because He loves us all the same.
